The plain-language version.
We wrote this policy the way we'd want to read one. It's specific. It avoids weasel words. If you find anything ambiguous, tell us and we'll rewrite it.
01 Summary
The short version: We collect what we need to run your analysis. We don't share it with third parties for marketing. We don't train foundation models on your content. You can export it, you can delete it, and we'll never post on your behalf.
This policy explains how LinkedIQ, Inc. ("LinkedIQ", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, app, and services (collectively, the "Service"). It applies to every user globally.
If we ever change our practices in a way that affects you, we'll tell you in advance — by email, in-app, or both. We'll never quietly expand what we do with your data.
02 What we collect
We collect three categories of data, and only what's necessary:
Account data
Your name, email address, and (optionally) your company and role. We use this to create your account, communicate with you, and send transactional email (e.g. password resets, billing receipts).
Content you upload
When you analyze your LinkedIn presence, you upload a LinkedIn profile PDF and a post analytics XLSX. We store these in an isolated, encrypted workspace tied only to your account. We process them to produce your analysis output (Profile DNA, Content DNA, Persona, Authority Map, recommendations, etc.).
Usage data
We log basic usage events — pages viewed, features used, error reports — so we can fix bugs and understand how the product is performing. We don't tie usage data to advertising profiles.
03 How we use it
- To run your analysis and produce the strategic intelligence outputs you asked for.
- To save your analysis history so you can revisit it.
- To improve the product (debugging, performance, aggregated feature usage).
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, and material product changes.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
That's it. We don't sell or rent your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't build behavioral profiles.
05 AI training
We do not train foundation models on your content. Your uploads, your analysis outputs, and your prompts to the recommendation engine are not used to train any LinkedIQ-owned models, and our inference vendors operate under zero-retention agreements that prohibit them from doing so either.
We may use aggregated, de-identified statistics (e.g. distribution of hook patterns across the user base) to improve our internal scoring models. Aggregated means there is no way to attribute any data point back to you or your work, and we apply a minimum-cohort threshold so individual contributions can't be reverse-inferred.
06 Retention & deletion
We keep your account and analysis data while your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your uploaded profile PDF and analytics XLSX are removed from active storage promptly (typically within 24 hours).
- Your analysis outputs are removed from active storage within 30 days.
- Routine backups roll off according to standard retention windows (typically within 90 days).
- Aggregated, de-identified statistics may remain; these are no longer linked to you.
You can also delete specific analyses without deleting your account, at any time, from your settings.
07 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have a set of rights over your personal data. We honor all of these globally, not just where required:
- Access: get a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability: get your analysis outputs in a machine-readable format (CSV, JSON).
- Objection: object to specific processing activities.
- Restriction: ask us to pause processing while a question is resolved.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@linkediq.app. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
08 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you specific additional rights:
- Right to know: what categories of personal information we collect about you, where we get it, and how we use it (covered in sections 02 and 03 above).
- Right to delete: request deletion of your personal information (section 06 above).
- Right to correct: request that inaccurate personal information be corrected.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no opt-out to exercise because we don't do this in the first place.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: we don't use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what's necessary to provide the Service.
- Right to non-discrimination: we won't deny you the Service, charge you more, or give you a lower quality of service because you exercised a CCPA right.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@linkediq.app with "California request" in the subject. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
09 Children
The Service is built for professional use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years old. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email privacy@linkediq.app and we'll delete it.
11 Security
We encrypt data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). We use isolated workspaces per account, role-based access controls, and audit logging on production data access. We aim to commission periodic third-party security reviews as the company matures. For current security details, email security@linkediq.app.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever experience a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you within 72 hours of confirming it, along with what happened, what we know, and what we're doing about it.
12 International transfers
LinkedIQ is a US company. We store and process data in the United States by default, and we work with infrastructure providers that offer EU-region processing where required. For users in the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland whose data is transferred to the US, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and supplementary measures consistent with applicable EU/UK data-protection frameworks. An EU representative will be appointed in accordance with GDPR Article 27 if and when we are required to do so; contact privacy@linkediq.app in the interim.
13 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy over time. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and we'll give you the option to delete your account before the change applies. Routine, non-material updates (typos, link fixes, clarifications) will be posted here with an updated date.
14 Contact
Questions about this policy, or about your data, can be sent to privacy@linkediq.app. We read every email. We try to reply within two business days.
